If you or your pALS is in the beginning stages of the disease, you may be filled with dread. We certainly were. Honestly, things often get harder before they get easier, and it will eventually take a team to manage total disability.
The most frustrating part of this disease is the initial loss of function, but we often find ways to adapt.
Fortunately, Todd is blessed with relatively slow progression, and now the disease is so advanced that we’re no longer dealing with rapidly declining independence. That’s given us time to think through some issues.
